I am delighted to welcome you to our website – the place where you can find official information on the Houston Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter (HMAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and ways that you can join us in impacting the lives of Houstonians through quality programs and projects that work.
For over 100 years Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has built a rich legacy in the communities where its members are present and since 1974 HMAC has proudly and steadfastly worked to continue this legacy – taking Delta’s global initiatives and creating local impact.
During the 2017-2019 biennium, the Houston Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter is excited to present robust, community-focused programming that will strengthen families, better position our children for future success, and support and care for our elders and those in need. Our programs will focus on five specific areas of impact (5-Point Programmatic Thrust):
International Awareness and Involvement
Physical and Mental Health
Political Awareness and Involvement
Program participants can expect to take advantage of creative, relevant, professional, and innovative curriculum, activities and projects that will inspire participants to dream bigger, achieve more, and get involved in economic, health/medical and social issues that affect our community and world.
